Hope is the thing with feathers
that perches in the soul,
and sings the tune without the words,
and never stops at all...
That's a funny thing about hope. It looks small and fragile. But despite being small it is fierce! It never stops at all. Hope is like the mustard seed in the Bible story- a small seed, but a most persistent seed. Hope is persistent.
FOCI is about hope. We hope for a better future. We hope for a future of opportunity and happiness for the children and families in poverty in Eleanganny, Tamil Nadu, India. But hope without action is just a wish. And wishful thinking alone doesn't accomplish much.
Last Sunday FOCI held its Fall Board of Directors meeting. We put our hope into action for the children of Eleanganny.
January 2016 will be the second year we bring hope to the FOCI children and their families. In our first year, FOCI was able to provide tuition support for 37 children. Early this Fall, reminder letters were sent to the sponsors of those children. We hope that they will see the value in continuing to help their FOCI child again this year! We even have a number of new donors who will enable us to assist a few additional children in 2016. Your hope and support, put into action, will make a difference. Thank you for your hope. Thank you for your commitment to For One Child of India.

We are in the midst of the Season of Thanks & The FOCI Board of Directors wishes you a Happy Thanksgiving. We wish you some peaceful time of reflection so that you may remember all of the things you have to be thankful for. We are blessed to live in a time and place of abundance. It is truely a gift to enjoy so many freedoms and comforts. Even on our difficult days, we know that we are not alone. Good friends and family help us through. We have hope. Mother Teresa said, "we cannot do great things on this earth, only small things with great love." Together, we can make a difference by doing many small things with great love. And like that fragile little bird of hope..... we will never stop at all...
